April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

Dear Community Partner:

This letter has reached you in an effort to thank you personally for your commitment and continuous effort to assist the families and children of Erie County. Our agency is celebrating the month of April for its national recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month. Erie County Job and Family Services touched the lives of over 1,300 children through investigations of child abuse, neglect and or dependency in 2022, as we as a community take on the mission of working together to make it a safe place for children to grow!

In an effort to recognize those individuals who go above and beyond, we are accepting nominations for the Aiding Children’s Excellence Awards. This is a great opportunity to acknowledge those volunteers/community members, medical personnel, law enforcement, foster parents, court personnel/attorneys, educators and public and private non-profit agencies who make a difference each and every day.

Nomination forms are posted on the homepage of our website. This can be completed and submitted by mail, fax or email to Andrew.Lill@jfs.ohio.gov. Nominations are due April 21st. All individuals will be recognized at our 2023 ACE Award & Foster Parent Banquet on May 10th at Sawmill Creek Resort.

The agency is also reaching out to individuals, businesses, educators, and social organizations in an effort to provide outreach and education regarding Child Abuse and Prevention as well as Foster Parent and Adoption Recruitment. If you have an interest in our agency conducting a presentation for you or your organization, please contact AJ Lill at (419) 627-4417.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this letter and to nominate individuals or groups whom you know go above and beyond each day to make a difference in the life of a child!

Sincerely,

AJ Lill
Deputy Director of Social Programs
